Virtual Gymnastics challenges available on demand via the TopYa! Active App

Partnership with TopYa! Active app enables British Gymnastics to reach more children

LONDON: TopYa! the first COPPA- and GDPR-compliant mobile-based children's video challenge app developer, and British Gymnastics, have partnered to make gymnastics challenges and instructional videos available via mobile application. The mobile developer has created multiple apps designed for children to experience the fun and benefits of physical activity on demand, at any time and any place, and British Gymnastics has created content that will now be available in the TopYa! Active app. The challenges created by British Gymnastics will be released monthly in the app, and are aimed at giving budding gymnasts the chance to get started and foster further interest in the sport. Children can take on the challenge and video themselves completing it. They then upload their video to the app and after receiving virtual coaching feedback, their video is live to share with the TopYa! community with the chance to win great prizes each month.

TopYa! platforms have inspired thousands of children of all skill levels and abilities to get off the couch and get active. Using skill and creativity, children have logged over 100,000 hours of extra time on practice beyond what they've done in gym class or sports practice. TopYa! was launched to combat the growing childhood obesity epidemic worldwide. Meeting kids where they are, the TopYa! technology platform combines the technology kids so love with physical activity to inspire healthy, active lifestyles using apps and devices that usually keep kids sedentary. TopYa! helps teachers, coaches and parents keep kids engaged with sports and physical activity longer and increases time on practice outside of formal practice settings.

Dave Marshall, Participation Director at British Gymnastics said, "We are excited to make gymnastics available on demand and to millions. TopYa! has a fantastic track record of reaching young people and great success to date with their range of sports and activity apps.

"We want as many children as possible to be active and have fun with gymnastics. The app is particularly good news for children who can't access gymnastic sessions easily as well as encouraging and supporting those who would rather take part at home. This partnership aligns perfectly with our strategy to deliver more participation opportunities for more people."

TopYa! co-founder Jason Keller said, "We are thrilled to partner with British Gymnastics to give kids a new way to try gymnastics skills and activities. This is a meaningful collaboration with British Gymnastics to provide more children access to a fast-growing and popular sport in a safe, yet virtual environment."
