DENVER, CO. TalentKode, creators of the first video-based mobile sports apps for kids, are excitedly awaiting the launch of TopYa! Soccer at the Colorado Cup. The Colorado Cup has brought Mainz 05 from the German Bundesliga and Leones Negros, a professional Mexican club, together in the Vail Valley and Colorado Springs to hold training camps, exhibition games and youth camps this July.
TopYa! Soccer is the world’s first mobile app that inspires players of all ages and abilities. Youth athletes of all skill levels use the app to complete skills tutorial videos compiled by Olympians, professional soccer players and coaches. Users also challenge one another to freestyles, using their creativity to create, upload and find other players from around the world to take on their challenges.
From July 11-15th, youth soccer players in Colorado will have the opportunity to learn from professional players, training alongside the pro teams as they undergo pre-season training. Mainz 05 coaches and players will teach youth the styles and techniques of a German professional player, and host coach clinics, business forums and sponsorship meetings. Players who download TopYa! Soccer will have access to a series of skills paths- clusters of tutorial videos- created to reinforce the skills taught at the Colorado Cup youth camps. There will also be multiple events throughout the week, including youth all-star games and two professional exhibition friendlies. The Mainz 05 v. Leones Negros game on July 13th will be live on ESPN 3.
Opportunities to bring international players to Colorado were once very uncommon. In recent years, as the popularity of soccer has grown in the state, these types of events have been easier to host. Giving youth a chance to engage with players, however, is something new- but critical to growing the influence of soccer in the US, both Colorado Cup founder and TalentKode agree.
TopYa! Soccer success manager Jason Keever says, “TopYa! is a key motivator for kids, so it will be really cool to see how kids take what they learn at camp, and what they do on the app at home in their spare time.”
The Colorado Cup exhibition games are July 12th and 13th. For more information, visit http://coloradocup2016.com/
